James "ginger pele" Collins
Rightly given MOTM today, what an immense performance.

No nonsense defender and had Benteke in his pocket all game.

Take a bow son.

Make you right there Annoy. if we had put tomkins on for Sakho and pushed Antonio forward, we would have been significantly more balanced and better off playing with 10.

Re: James "ginger pele" Collins
Definitely worse at the back since Ginge has been out. Reid has looked very shaky of late?

Think Antonio is wasted at RB. Would have played Tomkins and let Antonio loose up front.

Clearly Reid is not gash but he is not taking the pressure well. Looks flustered and unconfident...

Great Quote in the telegraph re James Collins from Ben Bloom which summed it up in one line for me:

"Special mention to James Collins: solid and utterly unspectacular in a brilliant way."

Re: James "ginger pele" Collins
He's a warrior. Has put in some magnificent displays for us over the years and the best 'backs to the wall' defender I've seen. He is also the best defender in the air in the prem for me. Will get done for pace and make the odd howler but all defenders do. He know has a very quick Ogbonna alongside him to keep an eye and Tomkins swooping from the right. Playing some great stuff at the min.

Was at Villa the other week in the Villa end with some family and friends and to a man they said how they missed him. Not the best technically but gave his all. Glad he is one of us and would be great to keep hold of him after he retires as I think would make a good defensive coach.

Re: James "ginger pele" Collins
Everyone is pointing out Antonio's work rate but my god, Collins is a fucking machine at the back. It's like he's daring Bilic to drop him when Reid is fit.
To think that he could have left in the summer but chose to fight for his place.

One of West Ham's best over the last few games.

Great performance again - inspiring others to try and match his effort ad commitment.

And he scrubs up well.

In my eyes Ginge is a modern day legend. Not blessed with the grace or technical ability of the likes of Rio, but got the heart of a lion and will put his body on the line for the club time and time again.

Willtell,
It's very harsh to make comparisons for any defender to the likes of Rio let alone England's finest.

Bet a few of their's thought likewise watching the big bastard take their former hero to the cleaners too
